Nile Crocodile
Nile crocodiles may not kill as many people as hippos but they kill and eat more people than any other vertebrate predator on Earth.  Nile crocodiles differ from other crocodilians because they regularly feed on large prey (antelope, wildebeest, and zebra) at the river’s edge.  Other crocodilians rarely encounter really large prey and may actually be more timid predators than Nile crocodiles.

Induna and Nandi came from Crocodile Creek, a crocodile farm outside of Durban in South Africa.  Crocodile Creek, like most farms, utilizes the skin and meat from the crocodiles produced.  This is a more effective and sustainable use of the entire animal in comparison to hunting.  Farming also employs local people providing an economic benefit to the community.
