Corn snakes are probably the most common domestically bred snake species sold in the pet trade.  The reasons for their popularity include; ease of care, gentle disposition, small adult size, and attractive colouration.  The snake in this photograph is a hypomelanistic animal which means it has less dark pigments in its skin when compared to a normal individual.   (Photo: Joshua V.
