Although albinism may occur on a regular basis, albinos of any species are typically quite rare in the wild.  Mortality rates of neonate reptiles in the wild is very high - upwards of 80-95% for many species.  Albino reptiles experience an even higher mortality rate simply because they are easily spotted by predators.  (Photo: Joshua V.
