Covid Safety Measures at Reptilia

Here is what we are doing to keep you safe during your visit

What WE are doing

  • Masks are Required

    All guests MUST wear a mask/face covering and are asked to stay home if feeling ill

    If you are medically incapable of wearing a mask and would like to visit Reptilia, please contact us

    All Reptilia cast members will be wearing a mask/face covering and following government social distancing recommendations

  • Lower Admissions Capacity

    Reducing the capacity of guests by limiting ticket sales and monitoring the number of guests in the building

    Timed ticketing to monitor the flow of guests. All guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and will be directed into the zoo’s entrance at their allocated time slot

  • Easy to Follow Floor Guides

    Floor graphics are placed throughout the zoo to guide guests on their tour and help maintain physical distancing by keeping all groups 14ft apart

  • Increased Cleaning Standards

    Increased accessibility to multiple hand sanitizer stations throughout the building

    Cast members dedicated to cleaning and sanitizing frequently contacted surfaces throughout the day in all areas of our facilities including our animal enclosures, bathrooms, gift shop and more

    Ongoing training for all cast members on hygiene and precautionary measures supporting and encouraging cast members to remain home if they are feeling unwell

  • Access to Playgrounds

    All indoor and outdoor playground areas will open soon. Stay tuned.

  • Please Wear a Mask

    Wear a mask or face covering when you arrive

  • Book Online

    Plan your visit and book online to reserve your timeslot

    Stay home if you or someone in your family/social circle is feeling ill or has traveled in the last 14 days– Reptilia will not financially penalize cancelations due to illness

  • Follow the Guides

    The guides maintain you and your loved at a safe distance from other guests

    Always maintain a minimum of a 6ft distance from anyone who is not in your group

  • Sanitize

    Use hand sanitizer provided at the front entrance before entering Reptilia

    Avoid touching glass enclosures or exhibit signs

    Continue to practice good hygiene such as frequent hand washing, disinfecting items, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding touching your face

  • Keep Children Safe

    Remember to supervise your children and follow all playground rules.

    Encourage children to practice good hygiene and remind them it is important to let a parent or supervisor know if they are feeling unwell

  • Card > Cash

    Where possible please use your debit or credit instead of cash

Frequently Asked Questions

No. We do strongly encourage you to purchase your admission online in advance however, as this will not only give you the best selection of time and dates but also gets you into the zoo faster. There will be no guarantee of availability for those who do not book in advance.
Yes. We will be following the government mandate enforced by the city of Toronto stating masks or face coverings must be worn when entering public indoor facilities, in both our Vaughan and Whitby locations. If you are not medically capable, we encourage you to postpone your visit to reduce yours and others’ risk of infection.
All Reptilia Memberships with expiry dates from 01/2020 on will be granted 1 full additional year from the date of expiry! We want all our members to be able to enjoy the zoo to its fullest and join us whenever they feel safe.
Guests will be led through the zoo at a steady pace with passing lanes offered at a variety of locations for groups to pass one another if their pace is different.

If you feel you need more time in the zoo, let us know and we will do our best to allocate another timeslot on the same date free of charge. Note second time slot cannot be transferred to another date and we cannot guarantee availability for these requests

We will be operating our regular hours, 7 days a week 10AM – 4PM.
No, but soon. We are implementing additional safety measures in the form of high tech, no-rinse, broad-spectrum sanitizer systems. The same system used in hospitals and airplanes to thoroughly and consistently sanitize high traffic areas.
Yes. bathrooms will be available and will be sanitized throughout the day by cast members dedicated to cleaning surfaces.
